What a bulletin is
A bulletin is OI Charts' write-up of one market news story: what happened with the figures, why it matters for the stock and its sector, what to watch next, the context, and a source line naming every publication it draws on. It runs 300 to 450 words and is published on this site in English and in Hindi, Telugu, Marathi, Tamil and Gujarati.
How a bulletin is made
- News feeds are read twice each trading day, at 07:00 and 16:00 IST. Headlines are screened by software for relevance to Indian listed companies and the F&O market
- The same story reported by several publications is merged into one bulletin that lists each of them as a source
- The article text and OI Charts' own market figures for the companies named (the close and the day's move, volume, futures open interest and its build-up, the put-call ratio, max pain, the 52-week range, all as of the session) are given to a language model that drafts the bulletin in a fixed structure
- The draft is checked by software for its structure and its figures, then published. The five language versions are machine translations of the English
- No person reads each bulletin before it is published. The stamp on every bulletin says so
What a bulletin never does
- It does not invent a figure. A figure that is in neither the source nor OI Charts' data is left out
- It does not give a price target, a buy, sell or hold view, or any advice. OI Charts is not a SEBI-registered investment adviser or research analyst
- It does not reproduce a source article. It is written from the facts in the source and in our data, and it links the source
Updates and corrections
When a further publication reports the same story within ten days, the bulletin is rewritten from every source and carries an updated time beside its published time. A later development in a story gets its own bulletin, linked to the earlier one. Errors are handled as the corrections page describes.
Who is responsible

Sources
Bulletins draw on public news publications and on exchange filings, and every bulletin links what it used. OI Charts' market figures are computed from the exchange's end-of-day files. This policy took effect on 9 October 2026.
