The board of Bharti Airtel has approved a first and final call of ₹401.25 per share on 39.2 crore partly paid-up equity shares, part of its ₹15,700 crore rights issue. Proceeds will primarily be used for pre-payment of borrowings and general corporate purposes, aiming to strengthen the company's balance sheet and move towards being net debt-free, excluding certain liabilities.
