Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) have returned to Indian equity markets, investing ₹19,675 crore in the first half of February. This rebound follows three months of heavy selling, where FPIs withdrew ₹35,962 crore in January alone. The renewed interest is attributed to the US-India trade deal and easing global macroeconomic concerns.
• FPIs had previously pulled out ₹22,611 crore in December and ₹3,765 crore in November.
• Overall, FPIs have withdrawn a net ₹1.66 lakh crore in 2025, reflecting cautious sentiment among global investors.
This influx may boost domestic equities and improve market sentiment.
