India's government is backing 50 GWh of battery manufacturing capacity under the Production Linked Incentive scheme. Additionally, 10 companies are set to establish nearly 178 GWh of capacity over the next five years to meet rising demand for lithium-ion batteries, projected to reach 40 GWh by 2025 and 210 GWh by 2030. This expansion aims to reduce import reliance and support the electric vehicle sector.
