The National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) has sanctioned Hindustan Unilever Ltd’s demerger of its ice cream business into Kwality Wall’s (India) Ltd. The tribunal issued the order on 30 Oct 2025 and a rectification on 6 Nov 2025. Shareholders will receive one share in the new entity for each share held in HUL.
This strategic move aligns with Unilever PLC’s global separation of ice cream operations, potentially enhancing operational focus and capital allocation for both entities.
