Numaligarh Refinery Ltd (NRL) will process imported crude oil for the first time following its expansion from 3 MTPA to 9 MTPA. The ₹33,901 cr project includes a new 6 MTPA crude distillation unit and is set for phased completion by December 2026. This move diversifies NRL's supply sources, enhancing its operational capabilities.
The initial crude feed was introduced on 31 Dec 2023, marking a significant milestone for the refinery. This expansion is expected to strengthen NRL's position in the petroleum market.
