The Indian Army is advancing its drone capabilities with a ₹1,600 crore tender for 840 loitering munitions. Tata Advanced Systems Ltd (TASL) and Nibe Ltd have emerged as the lowest bidders, with TASL set to receive 64% of the order. A subsequent tender for a ₹1,500 crore jet propulsion system for UAVs is also on the horizon. This initiative aims to diversify the unmanned systems industry.
