Coal India Ltd announced plans to invest ₹3,300 crore for eight new coking coal washeries to enhance coal quality and reduce import reliance. The washeries, with a combined capacity of 21.5 million tonnes per year, are expected to be operational by FY2030. Additionally, ₹300 crore will be allocated for modernizing existing facilities to boost efficiency.
