India is advancing the global use of the rupee via bilateral local currency agreements, said RBI Governor Sanjay Malhotra. The RBI has signed MoUs with multiple countries to facilitate local currencies in trade. The digital rupee pilot has reached 12 million users and processed over ₹400 billion in transactions.
