Indian equity markets are closed today for Good Friday, with trading resuming on 06 Apr 2014. Over the past week, the Sensex lost 1,913 points (2.54%) and the Nifty 50 dropped 343 points (1.5%) due to global tensions. However, the rupee surged 2.1% to ₹92.8262 against the dollar, marking its largest single-day gain since September 2013.
