The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has issued a ₹3,740 crore tender for the first construction package of the Tharad–Ahmedabad Expressway. This six-lane, access-controlled highway will enhance freight movement over a 105.8 km stretch, part of a larger 214 km corridor approved in August 2024.
The project will be executed under the Build–Operate–Transfer (BOT) model, ensuring private sector involvement in construction and maintenance before government handover. This initiative is expected to significantly reduce travel times and bolster economic activity in the region.
