The Finance Minister has increased the capital expenditure target for FY27 to ₹12.2 lakh crore, up from ₹10.95 lakh crore for FY26. This represents 4.4% of GDP, the highest ever, aimed at sustaining public infrastructure development, especially in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities. The total expenditure for FY27 is projected at ₹53.47 lakh crore.
