The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has set a Merchant Discount Rate (MDR) of up to 0.4% on UPI Person-to-Merchant transactions exceeding ₹2,000, effective 15 Oct 2023. This change is expected to enhance revenue for digital payment firms like Paytm and One Mobiwik, which previously offered free transactions. 📈
