The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has proposed a 60-day limit for temporary debit holds on accounts linked to cyber fraud. Customers will have 20 days to explain suspicious transactions, with unresolved cases referred to law enforcement. These rules follow a Supreme Court order and are set to take effect from 1 Apr 2027.
