State-run refiner Bharat Petroleum (BPCL) has raised its capital expenditure by 35% to ₹25,000 cr for FY27, focusing on petrochemicals. In contrast, Indian Oil and ONGC have reduced their budgets by 6%, planning to spend ₹32,700 cr and ₹30,000 cr, respectively. Overall, state-run oil companies aim for ₹1.34 trillion in capex this fiscal year, with a 6% decline in refining and marketing expenditures.
