India’s steel, aluminium, and copper sectors will continue facing 50% tariffs under US Sec 232 provisions, despite a reduction in reciprocal tariffs on Indian goods from 25% to 18%. This leaves Indian exports, valued at $5 billion in FY25, at a competitive disadvantage against UK imports. Tata Steel's Indian operations are unaffected, while JSW Steel benefits from local production in the US.
