Nomura raised its target price for Dr Lal PathLabs to ₹2,280 from ₹2,150 after the company’s strong Q2 FY27 performance. The revised target implied 12.4% upside from the level assessed by the brokerage and followed broad-based volume growth, higher realisations and a multi-quarter high in EBITDA margin. 💊
The diagnostics company reported Q2 revenue of ₹870 cr, up 19.6% year on year and 9.6% sequentially. Sample volumes increased 13.4% year on year, while realisation per test rose 5.5%, supported by price hikes under the CGHS and ECHS schemes, a higher share of specialised testing and a favourable geographic mix.
EBITDA margin 32.1% expanded 139 basis points year on year and 104 basis points sequentially. Core EBITDA rose 25% year on year and 13.2% sequentially, while net profit increased 27.5% year on year and 13.8% sequentially. Swasthfit contributed 26% of revenue, adding a specific area for investors to track within the company’s revenue mix.
The update follows the earlier bulletin on the September-quarter results and adds the sell-side interpretation of the earnings quality. Volume growth and realisation gains indicate that the revenue increase was supported by both testing demand and pricing, while margin expansion shows that operating costs grew more slowly than revenue. These trends are relevant for the wider healthcare diagnostics segment, where network utilisation, test mix and pricing influence profitability. 📈
OI Charts data showed the stock closed at ₹2,029 on 04 Nov 2026, rising 5.4% on the day on volume of 735,423 shares. It gained 5.6% over five sessions and 1.2% over 20 sessions, while its 52-week range remained ₹1,273 to ₹3,309.
The next focus is whether the company sustains double-digit sample-volume growth, higher specialised-testing contribution and margins near the Q2 level. The 11 Nov 2026 record date for the ₹5 interim dividend also remains relevant to the post-results trading calendar.
