ONGC shifts to rupee payments for ship hiring tenders

Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Ltd (ONGC) has mandated that Indian bidders quote in rupees for procurement tenders, including ship hiring. This move aims to conserve foreign exchange, as ONGC spends hundreds of millions of dollars annually on drilling rigs and offshore vessels. The change is now standard across all ONGC procurement tenders.
