Vantage Drilling has secured a $261 million contract with ONGC for its ultra-deepwater drillship Platinum Explorer. The contract includes a three-year firm period with an optional one-year extension, starting within 180 days of the award. The drillship can operate in depths of 10,000 feet and drill up to 40,000 feet deep, enhancing India's offshore capabilities.
