Gold and silver prices fell sharply on Monday, with gold futures down 5.6% to ₹1,36,403 per 10 grams and silver dropping 11% to ₹2.03 lakh per kg. The decline is attributed to rising inflation fears and expectations of higher global interest rates amid escalating geopolitical tensions. Gold ETFs also saw declines of up to 9%.

This marks the ninth consecutive session of falling gold prices, with an 11% loss over the past week, while silver has recorded a 15% drop, the steepest since 2011.
