Rajasthan has issued a tender for 150 MW/600 MWh pilot Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) through Jodhpur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited. The project involves developing 150 units of 1 MW/4 MWh each, to be completed by 12 Aug 2026 under a Build-Own-Operate model. This initiative aims to enhance grid decentralisation and efficiency.
• BESS will support 4-hour discharge duration
• Minimum of one to two charge-discharge cycles daily
