The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) confirmed that Tata Motors Finance and Piramal Enterprises have voluntarily surrendered their NBFC licences following their mergers with Tata Capital and Piramal Finance, respectively. This move, effective post-merger dates of 8 May 2025 and September 2025, also includes six other NBFCs. The RBI is seeking public comments on draft amendments for NBFC registration exemptions.
