Following a 25 basis points repo rate cut by the RBI, several nationalized banks have lowered retail loan interest rates by the same margin. Punjab National Bank, Bank of Maharashtra, and others have adjusted their repo linked lending rates, with home loans starting at 7.10%. This move may stimulate borrowing but banks are cautious about reducing the MCLR to protect margins.
