NLC India Limited and National Aluminium Company have signed a joint venture agreement to develop a 1,080 MW coal-based captive thermal power plant at Angul, Odisha. The JV will operate with a 50:50 equity participation to support NALCO’s aluminium smelter expansion.
This project includes a 25-year fuel supply agreement for coal and a 25-year power purchase agreement for full power offtake, enhancing energy security for NALCO's operations.
