Tata Steel reported consolidated profit after tax of ₹3,699.59 crore for Q2FY27, up 16.2% year on year from ₹3,183.09 crore. Revenue from operations rose 11.5% to ₹65,436.24 crore from ₹58,689.29 crore a year earlier. Consolidated EBITDA increased 17% YoY and 14% QoQ to ₹10,665 crore, implying a margin of around 16%. The results strengthened the operating read-through for the steel sector 📈.
The company also said Noel Naval Tata will retire as Non-Executive, Non-Independent Director and Vice Chairman of the Board after close of business on 11 Nov 2026. The leadership change comes alongside improved operating performance, but the immediate market focus remains on earnings quality, steel volumes and regional profitability. In India, revenue was ₹42,653 crore and EBITDA reached ₹10,634 crore, producing a 25% margin. Crude steel production rose 7% QoQ to 6.18 million tonnes, while deliveries increased 16% to 5.98 million tonnes.
EBITDA ₹10,665 cr and the stronger India margin are the key earnings figures for traders to track. Higher deliveries indicate improved throughput and demand absorption, while the gap between consolidated and India margins highlights the importance of the company’s overseas operations to the group result. Steel prices, raw-material costs, export conditions and European performance remain relevant for the wider metals complex ⚙️.
OI Charts data showed the stock closed at ₹186.30 on 06 Nov 2026, up 2.4% on the day, with volume of 33.99 million shares. It had gained 11.2% over five sessions and 4.3% over 20 sessions. Futures showed a 0.8% rise in open interest with a long build-up, while the put-call ratio was 0.9. The ₹190 call strike had the largest open interest and the ₹170 put strike the largest put open interest. Max pain stood at ₹180 for the 23 Nov 2026 expiry.
The next market cues are the company’s commentary on steel prices, costs and overseas operations, followed by the leadership transition effective 11 Nov. The ₹190 call and ₹170 put open-interest levels, along with the ₹180 max-pain level, frame the near-term derivatives positioning.
