State-run oil marketing companies (OMCs) are set to establish a 30-day strategic LPG reserve to bolster energy security amid supply risks from the Strait of Hormuz. Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) plans to invest ₹5,000 cr to increase its LPG storage capacity to 340 TMT from 200 TMT. Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) are also developing expansion plans.
