The 10th Central Sanctioning and Monitoring Committee meeting approved 1.93 lakh additional approvals under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban 2.0 on 16 Oct 2026, taking total sanctions to 20.80 lakh houses. The approvals cover eligible Economically Weaker Section families across 11 states through the Beneficiary Led Construction and Affordable Housing in Partnership verticals. 🏠
Uttar Pradesh received the largest allocation at 73,182 houses, followed by Bihar at 52,866 and West Bengal at 16,559. Other approvals disclosed in the release included 18,120 houses in Telangana, 14,290 in Gujarat, 6,560 in Andhra Pradesh, 4,670 in Chhattisgarh and 3,116 in another participating state. The scheme supports urban housing demand and can create downstream activity for construction contractors, building-material suppliers and residential developers. 🏗️
OI Charts data showed DLF at ₹675.00, up 0.7% on the day and 5.5% over 20 sessions, with futures open interest down 1.0% in short covering. Its ₹670 max-pain level, ₹700 largest call-open-interest strike and ₹650 largest put-open-interest strike define the near-term derivatives map for the 27 Oct 2026 expiry. Godrej Properties closed at ₹1,603, down 0.8% on the day and 4.5% over 20 sessions; its futures open interest fell 0.3% in long unwinding, with max pain at ₹1,640 and the largest call and put open interest at ₹1,700 and ₹1,600 respectively.
The immediate market relevance is the scale and geographic spread of sanctioned housing rather than a disclosed order value or revenue impact for any one listed developer. The next indicators are the release of project-level execution details, construction starts, fund disbursements and further CSMC approvals. The broader market backdrop was supportive, with Nifty up 0.7% on 16 Oct 2026, while the housing stocks showed different derivatives positioning and price trends.
