KKR, Singtel and Tata Communications initiated plans to sell their collective stake in STT Global Data Centres India at a valuation above $5.5 billion. Advisors have been appointed, with the process expected to attract global data centre operators, Indian conglomerates and financial sponsors. The proposed transaction puts one of India’s top three co-location platforms at the centre of a major infrastructure sale ⚡.
STT Global Data Centres India operates 34 data centres across 10 locations with total capacity of 613 MW. Its customers include hyperscalers, cloud service providers and financial institutions, while its top 10 customers account for approximately 76% of revenue. For FY25, the company reported operating income of about ₹2,354 cr and PAT of about ₹183 cr. The valuation therefore reflects the strategic importance of its operating footprint, power capacity and exposure to India’s expanding cloud and artificial-intelligence infrastructure demand.
The development is relevant to Tata Communications because a completed transaction could establish a valuation reference for its investment in the platform. OI Charts data showed the company’s shares closed at ₹1,756 on 02 Nov 2026, up 4.78% on the day, with volume of 318,672. The stock gained 4.4% over five sessions and 6.1% over 20 sessions. It remained below its 52-week high of ₹2,110 recorded on 22 Jun 2026, while the 52-week low was ₹1,322 on 02 Apr 2026
The immediate market focus is on formal sale-process disclosures, the identity of interested bidders, any binding offer and the final transaction value. Investors will also watch which ownership interests are sold, how proceeds are used and whether the transaction changes Tata Communications’ reported financials. Sector attention remains on data-centre capacity additions, customer concentration, power availability and demand from cloud providers. The reported transaction is still a planned process, not a completed sale 💼.
