The National Highways Authority of India floated a ₹614 crore tender on 30 Oct 2026 to complete the remaining 14-km Tamil Nadu stretch of the Chennai-Bengaluru Expressway. NHAI officials said the selected contractor is expected to finish the work within four months of the contract award. The tender moves the delayed inter-state corridor closer to full completion 🛣️.
The 263-km expressway is being developed at an estimated cost of ₹18,000 crore and is designed to reduce travel time between Chennai and Bengaluru from five to seven hours to around three hours. About 230 km has been completed. The 71-km Hoskote-Bethamangala section in Karnataka is operational, while roughly 90% of the work in Andhra Pradesh and the Tamil Nadu–Andhra Pradesh border sections is complete. The corridor could improve freight movement, regional connectivity and construction activity across the route 🚚.
For the OI Charts-tracked infrastructure stock associated with the market data, the latest close was ₹3,837 on 29 Oct 2026, up 0.9% for the session. Volume was 1,754,505, while the stock gained 4.8% over five sessions but remained down 1.0% over 20 sessions. Its futures showed short covering: open interest fell 2.3% to 13,600,475 as the futures price stood at a 0.47% premium to the underlying. OI Charts data therefore shows improving near-term positioning, but not a confirmed change in the broader trend.
The immediate trigger to watch is the contract award and the four-month execution schedule. The ₹3,850 options max pain level is close to the latest price, while the largest call open interest sits at ₹3,900 and the largest put open interest at ₹3,600 for the 23 Nov 2026 expiry. These levels frame the near-term derivatives range; progress updates on the final package and commissioning milestones will determine whether the infrastructure benefit becomes operational.
