Central infrastructure project commissioning reached a Q2FY27 peak in September, with assets worth ₹19,184 crore commissioned under the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation’s monitoring framework. The monthly value was higher than ₹7,402 crore across four projects in July and ₹3,237 crore across three projects in August, according to Brickwork Ratings’ analysis of projects valued at ₹150 crore and above. 🏗️
September’s total was concentrated in two large assets: the ₹13,757 crore, 1,320-MW Buxar Thermal Power Project and Phase I of the ₹5,427 crore NMDC Slurry Pipeline Project. The commissioning mix highlights continued activity across power and logistics infrastructure, while the pipeline project adds transport capacity for mineral movement. ⚡
New project onboardings also accelerated to 83 in September, compared with 36 in July and 37 in August. Railways accounted for 57 additions, followed by Road Transport and Highways with 16 and Power with seven. The sharp rise in additions expands the future execution pipeline, but the commissioning figures show that monthly output remains concentrated in a small number of large projects.
For NMDC, OI Charts data for 03 Nov 2026 showed the stock at ₹68.20, down 0.3% on the day, with volume of 13.87 million shares. The stock had declined 10.9% over 20 sessions and remained near its 52-week low of ₹65.61 recorded on 26 Oct 2026. Its futures showed a 0.2% increase in open interest with a short build-up, while the put-call ratio stood at 0.6.
The November expiry’s ₹70 max-pain level and largest call open interest at ₹70 identify that zone as an immediate derivatives reference. The largest put open interest was at ₹80, although the stock was trading below both levels. The next focus is the pace of commissioning in October and November, further project onboardings, and execution milestones for the NMDC slurry pipeline and other large power assets.
