State-owned oil marketing companies IOC, BPCL, and HPCL more than doubled their combined profit to ₹23,743 crore in the December 2025 quarter, up from ₹10,545 crore a year ago. This surge was driven by strong refining margins and reduced LPG under-recoveries. The gross refining margin for IOC quadrupled to $12.2 per barrel, while BPCL's rose to $13.3 and HPCL's to $8.9.
The average Brent crude price fell to $63.8 per barrel, enhancing profitability for these companies. This strong performance may bolster investor sentiment in the oil sector.
