Adani Green Energy reported a 16% year-on-year rise in second-quarter net profit to ₹747 crore on 21 Oct 2026, compared with ₹644 crore a year earlier. Revenue from operations increased 42% to ₹4,258 crore from ₹3,008 crore, while EBITDA rose 46% to ₹3,797 crore from ₹2,603 crore. The results followed the company’s first-half operating update, which showed higher renewable capacity and energy sales. 📈
Revenue ₹4,258 cr and the EBITDA increase indicate that the expanded asset base translated into stronger operating performance during the September quarter. Energy sales rose 33% year on year in the quarter to 12,090 million units, while first-half energy sales increased 32% to 25,747 million units. Operational renewable capacity had risen 24% year on year to 20,763 MW in the first half of fiscal 2027.
The capacity additions also remain relevant for the wider renewable-energy and infrastructure sectors ⚡. First-half greenfield additions reached 4,083 MW, including 621 MW in the second quarter. The company also operationalised 3,081 megawatt-hours of battery storage projects at Khavda on 1 Oct, taking operational battery storage capacity to 6,632 megawatt-hours. These figures show the scale of generation and storage assets being brought into operation alongside the reported earnings growth.
OI Charts data showed the stock closing at ₹1,295 on 19 Oct, down 0.52% for the session on volume of 965,167 shares. It was up 1.7% over five sessions but down 2.9% over 20 sessions, and remained below its 52-week high of ₹1,632 recorded on 14 Jul 2026. In derivatives, futures open interest rose 1.1% to 23,212,200 shares in a short build-up, with futures at a 0.12% discount to the underlying. The put-call ratio was 0.87.
The 27 Oct 2026 expiry has ₹1,300 as both maximum pain and the strike with the largest call and put open interest. Traders will watch management commentary on generation, cash flows, storage commissioning and the conversion of capacity additions into future earnings. 🔋
