Adani Power revised its regulatory disclosure on the encumbrance of Jaiprakash Power Ventures shares, correcting the pledged quantity to 1,20,05,09,465 equity shares from the earlier reported 1,20,05,09,431. The updated filing was submitted to the stock exchanges on 13 Jul 2026 and added the previously omitted names of lenders and security trustees.
The corrected pledge represents 17.517% of share capital. The disclosure also covers a non-disposal undertaking over 10,21,88,566 shares, equivalent to 1.49% of the company’s share capital. The filings were made under SEBI takeover regulations and arose from the corporate insolvency resolution process of Jaiprakash Associates. ⚖️
A related report said IDBI Trusteeship Services, acting as security trustee for lenders, released encumbrances covering 1,30,26,97,997 Jaiprakash Power shares on 21 May 2026. That amount comprised the previously pledged shares and the shares under the non-disposal undertaking, following the resolution plan approved by the National Company Law Tribunal on 17 Mar 2026 and a lenders’ meeting on 15 May 2026. Jaiprakash Power’s total equity share capital was reported at 6,85,34,58,827 fully paid-up shares of ₹10 each.
The correction changes the reported quantity by 34 shares, so the immediate significance is disclosure accuracy rather than a change in the economic size of the encumbrance. For the energy ⚡ sector, the filing provides updated visibility on lender security and the ownership-related consequences of the insolvency resolution process.
OI Charts data for 16 Oct 2026 showed Adani Power at ₹195.85, down 0.3% on the day, after a 3.6% rise over five sessions and a 4.9% fall over 20 sessions.
